With Randy Moss and Kevin Garnett making random returns to Minnesota in the twilight of his career, some have imagined the possibility of Peterson returning to the Vikings and finishing his career in purple. This scenario got more traction when the NFL Network’s Terrell Davis mentioned the two should join forces one last time.

Adding Peterson to the fold would make some sense for the Vikings as his age may deflate his cost and having one of the most decorated running backs in NFL history as a mentor for Cook might be appealing as he enters the prime of his career.

Of course, we all know the negatives that Peterson brings as well. The 34-year old has never taken kindly to playing second fiddle to a younger running back and a starting job didn’t fall into his lap last year until Derrius Guice tore his ACL last August.

It would be a nice storybook ending to see Peterson suit up for the Vikings once again, but it just doesn’t seem like something the Minnesota Vikings would be interested in at this juncture.
