Yahoo Sports’ Frank Schwab recently revealed his thoughts on the chances of the Minnesota Vikings achieving success in 2019.
Most people who cover the NFL know that the current roster of the Minnesota Vikings is full of talent. How successful the Vikings can be in 2019 is just a matter of them figuring out the best way to utilize all of their talent.
Some believe Minnesota is capable of winning the Super Bowl next season while others don’t even think they will come close to making the playoffs.
Yahoo Sports’ Frank Schwab is the latest to offer his opinion on the Vikings’ chance to be successful in 2019 and he is among those who believe they have what it takes to compete for a championship.
"“Look at the blue-chip talent on both sides of the ball. Not many teams can match it. Don’t forget the Vikings went 13-3 with Case Keenum at quarterback just two seasons ago. Maybe a new offensive staff finds the mix that works best for this team, and the talented defense has another big season. The ceiling for the Vikings is very high.”"
Despite Schwab thinking that Minnesota has championship qualities, his feelings about how 2019 will actually turn out for the team aren’t as encouraging.
"“I need to see them do better against top-level competition before I believe they can be a playoff team again. It looks like another season in which the Vikings are good, but still a disappointment.”"
Overall, Schwab is predicting that the Vikings will finish as the 16th-best team in the NFL during the upcoming season. In his rankings, he has Minnesota ahead of teams like the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
As much as some may disagree with what Schwab believes about the Vikings’ chances in 2019, all he is doing is attempting to be realistic.
His point about Minnesota needing to play better against the top teams in the league is completely true. The Vikings absolutely have to do this in 2019 or they won’t be making the playoffs like Schwab believes.
Minnesota’s upcoming season could turn out a variety of different ways. The Vikings and their fans are just hoping that it at least ends up being better than last year.
