Grady Jarrett – DT

The Falcons defense has been historically bad this season. One shining spot on this unit, however, is the play of their big, beefy man in the middle Grady Jarrett. This guy is a one-man wrecking crew who can not only stuff the run but can provide interior pressure and get in the face of quarterbacks. That pressure he creates also throws off the timing of an offense and can lead to botched plays or plays that are dead before they even start.

The Vikings need to be ready for Jarrett this weekend. Garrett Bradbury has been playing at a high level this season, and if the team feels confident he can handle him one on one they could be in for a rude awakening. While Bradbury could win his fair share of battles against Jarrett, he could also lose a handful. The Vikings will be smart to make sure they double team Jarrett as often as possible.

If they are going to get the run game going, especially with Mattison and not Cook in there, the Minnesota Vikings will have to push Jarrett out of the hole. If they can do this, they should be able to get the most vital part of the offense going and will be able to run their offense they want to. If they don’t properly prepare for Jarrett, he can wreck their run game and force this team to become one dimensional, and that could lead to another deflating loss for the Purple.
