Aaron Rodgers – QB

Aaron Rodgers was on fire against the Vikings back in Week 1. He threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns. He was able to roll out and find the open receivers as Minnesota’s secondary gave them plenty of cushion.

Rodgers got a lot of help from his offensive line in that contest as the Vikings pass rush couldn’t get a sniff of him. David Bakhtiari locked down Yannick Ngakoue and no one else on Minnesota’s defense even seemed to get into the backfield.

Davante Adams and Rodgers were in the zone throughout the entire contest and they were making the types of plays that cause one to wonder if they have some sort of weird telekinetic communication powers.

It was a situation where the Packers offense was a complete mismatch for a Vikings defense that was going with youth and also experiencing some injury issues.

If Minnesota is going to fare better against Rodgers in the rematch this week, they have to get more pressure on him. This will be extremely tough to do since the Vikings just traded away their best pass rusher. Minnesota will need to hope Ifeadi Odenigbo builds off his strong performance against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.

Mike Zimmer will also need to dial up some unique blitzes that confuse the Green Bay blockers. If they can make Rodgers get the ball out sooner than he wants to, the Vikings will have a chance to get the upset victory.
