Kyle Hinton – OG
The Vikings have gone through quite a few guards this season and even though they are on about their fifth option on the right side, seeing Kyle Hinton line up at one of these spots isn’t going to happen in 2020.
There’s a couple of reasons for this. The first is that he’s just buried on the depth chart. The Vikings have players like Brett Jones, Aviante Collins, and Oli Udoh who will all see the field long before Hinton does.
The other reason why Hinton is far from seeing the field is that he’s so inexperienced. This guy played for Division II Washburn and while he dominated at that level, it’s far removed from the level of football the NFL is played at.
Hinton would’ve had a chance to get on the field this year if there would’ve been a real preseason. He would’ve benefited greatly from playing in some live-action exhibition games, getting a taste and idea of the speed of an NFL game, even if it would’ve been against third and even fourth stringers.
Hinton does have a chance to eventually compete for one of Minnesota’s starting guard spots. But it isn’t going to happen this season and maybe not even in 2021 either.
