The Minnesota Vikings adjusted their roster for Week 13.

Week 13 of the 2020 NFL season is almost here for the Minnesota Vikings and their opponent for this contest will the one-win Jacksonville Jaguars led by quarterback Mike Glennon and running back James Robinson.

According to the team’s injury report, the team declared that running back Alexander Mattison, defensive end D.J. Wonnum, and tight end Irv Smith Jr. will miss the game due to injury or illness, leaving spots open on the roster.

According to the official Twitter account of the Minnesota Vikings, two transactions were made to fill the roster and give the team the best chance to get a win in Week 13. Here is the official announcement:

It shouldn’t be surprising to see Brandon Dillon be elevated to the 53-man roster. He has been filling in for Irv Smith Jr. while he has been struggling with a back injury. Dillon caught the first pass of his NFL career in Week 12 against the Panthers, gaining seven yards for the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Eddie Yarbrough will be filling in for young pass rusher D.J. Wonnum at tight end. He could be part of a defensive rotation that head coach Mike Zimmer has relied on this season. The experienced pass rusher is quite different from the young, athletic Wonnum, but should be able to help the defense.

The purple and gold are 10 point favorites over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday and that is both wonderful and terrifying. The Minnesota Vikings have struggled against some teams where they have been heavily favored over the years, but the team must take Jacksonville seriously if they want to move to six wins on the season and stay in the playoff picture for the time being. A loss to the Jaguars would be crushing to those hopes, and the Vikings locker room has to keep that in mind.
