The Vikings went into the 2020 Draft with finding an offensive guard as one of their top needs. Instead of addressing this need early and often, Minnesota made the head-scratching decision to wait until their very last pick in the draft and add a raw player from a Division II school.

Rick Spielman got trade happy in the third round of last year’s draft and he moved out to basically get the rest of the Saints picks. He should’ve just stayed put and grabbed this mauling guard from Georgia.

Solomon Kindley moves well for being so large, he can hold up in pass protection, in addition to creating plenty of open turf for his running backs.

He started 13 games as a rookie with the Miami Dolphins and while he did draw four flags while also allowing the same number of sacks, he did have weeks where he was among the best performing rookie lineman in.

Kindley would’ve filled a huge need on the Vikings’ offensive line. If Minnesota had taken him, they wouldn’t have had to deal with players like Dru Samia or Dakota Dozier and their bumbling plays on the field.

The Vikings also wouldn’t head into another offseason with guard topping their needs list. Kindley did have his ups and downs, but he showed enough potential to be a quality player moving forward and he’s one Minnesota should’ve taken instead of trading down.
