With their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings struck gold with former LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Jefferson appears to already have the makings of a once-in-a-generation type of player and the Vikings couldn’t have asked for a better performance from him during the 2020 season.

For the 2021 draft, Minnesota is currently scheduled to make their first selection with the No. 14 pick. Given how early it is in the offseason, it’s still pretty unclear what direction the Vikings will be looking to take with this selection.

Could the Minnesota Vikings land another top receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Mock draft season is in full effect and we’ve already seen plenty that have the Vikings adding a prospect to help improve either their offensive line or defensive line. But a recent one has Minnesota adding another potential superstar to their offense.

In the latest 2021 mock draft from CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson, former LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase dropped all the way to the Vikings at pick No. 14.

Ending up with Chase in this year’s draft would be an incredible selection for Minnesota. Not only would the Vikings be getting a great receiver, but they would also be reuniting Jefferson with his former LSU teammate.

Chase opted out of the 2020 college football season, but he’s still regarded as one of the top wide receiver prospects available in this year’s draft. In 2019, the young pass-catcher finished his season with 84 receptions for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Chase doesn’t have crazy size (6-feet, 208 pounds), but he’s in the mold of some of the top receivers in the NFL today. He can line up on the outside or in the slot and his route-running abilities are very impressive.

Minnesota has seen a number of great receiver duos in their history. Could Jefferson and Chase be the next great Vikings receiver duo?
