Byron Pringle

Byron Pringle is an interesting name and one that gets looked over as a dangerous returner, but that is what he’s becoming.

Pringle had kind of been the forgotten man in the Kansas City Chiefs offense and for good reason. He was playing behind dangerous playmakers like Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Mecole Hardman, so he didn’t see many targets.

The Chiefs began trying him at kick returner back in 2019 and they did this even more in 2020. Pringle did well in the role, averaging 32.4 yards per return and even taking one all the way for six points.

Pringle was given the job in the playoffs and he averaged 25.8 per return, which set Kansas City up with decent field position more often than not.

Pringle could be a very affordable option on the open market. He probably won’t garner much interest as a wide receiver and with his return skills not fully developed, he likely won’t be seen as a top-tier option in that regard either.

The Vikings could get a sneaky good signing here, landing a dynamic returner and a guy who could compete to be the fifth wide receiver.
