5 potential landing spots for Kyle Rudolph this offseason
By Nik Edlund
Who are five teams former Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph could play for in 2021?
In some expected but heartbreaking news, the Minnesota Vikings cut their all-time great tight end, Kyle Rudolph on Tuesday.
Rudolph had been with the Vikings since 2011 when he was a second-round draft choice. With Minnesota currently in salary cap hell, Rudolph making more than he’s worth, and the team already having two other solid tight ends on the roster in Irv Smith Jr. and Tyler Conklin, the move was inevitable.
While Rudolph didn’t fit on the Vikings’ roster at his current price, his phone should be ringing with plenty of suitors from around the NFL that will be looking to sign the huge target.
The veteran tight end still has plenty left in the tank, and while he doesn’t have breakaway speed, he’s still a viable threat in the red zone as he’s made the acrobatic catch in the back corner of the end zone look routine.
Rudolph will likely play a couple of more seasons and some Minnesota fans will want to see him go to a contender to compete for a ring. SO who are some of the teams that Rudolph could end up with this year?
