Adam Thielen – WR

Why in the world would the Vikings ever trade Adam Thielen? You mean the receiver who will turn 31-years-old in August and the guy who hasn’t finished with at least 1,000 receiving yards in a season since 2018?

Listen, Thielen is still a great player, and someone who Minnesota fans hope will never leave. But if the Vikings have an opportunity to move up in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft by including the veteran receiver in a trade package, that’s a decision they would need to seriously consider.

As was the case in 2020, this year’s draft pool is very deep with talented wide receivers. If Minnesota can acquire a first-round pick for Thielen, it would potentially give them a total of four selections in the first three rounds of the draft.

There should be plenty of younger and cheaper receivers for the Vikings to choose from with one of these four picks that could come in and make an immediate impact for the team next season.

It would likely take a very enticing offer for Minnesota to part ways with Thielen during this year’s draft, but it’s still something that shouldn’t be ruled out given the team’s need to show significant improvements next season.
