Tyler Shough had an excellent season at Oregon in 2020, but he is heading to Texas Tech to play in the air-raid offense. He will get a chance to showcase his arm and explode onto the scene before the 2022 NFL Draft, which could propel him into the early stages of the draft.

This is more of a shot in the dark of what to expect from Shough moving forward without having a whole lot to really base it off of. With limited experience at Oregon, we only have a small sample size to base future projections. He showed some wiggle with his legs last season and can tuck and run when he needs to, which is necessary for the NFL.

Shough likes to throw when he’s on the move and tends to do a good job when he rolls to his left. He won’t stand still in the pocket very often, but he makes it work as a mobile threat with a strong arm.

With a big frame, Shough has the tools to be an interesting dual-threat quarterback in the NFL. This isn’t to say he is near the same level as Justin Herbert as a prospect, but Shough does fit the similar athletic profile that Oregon apparently loves.

If he thrives at Texas Tech next season, he has a chance to be a top-50 draft pick with a chance to start right away if he impresses in his first training camp.
