Christian Darrisaw – OT

This is easily the most surprising addition to the list since he’s a rookie and he has never played a down in the NFL. In fact, there’s a slim chance Christian Darrisaw doesn’t even start in Week 1 during the upcoming season. But if he does, and he plays the way he did in college, he’ll be one of the most explosive players on Minnesota’s offense.

The reason for this is Darrisaw is a violent mover of bodies. This guy is not only huge, but he is very athletic, and he can get downfield in a hurry. Witnessing him absolutely blow up would-be tacklers as he leads Dalvin Cook down the field on screens or pulling to the outside, should be an expected sight this season.

Darrisaw will add some much-needed physicality to the Vikings‘ offensive line, and while there could be a slight drop-off in play at that position early in the season, it won’t take him long to surpass Riley Reiff’s overall performance from the last couple of years.

The only thing holding Darrisaw back from having an explosive rookie season is if the nagging injuries he’s had in mini-camp linger through the preseason. If he ends up missing a lot of reps in practice, that’ll stunt his development. If he shows up the first day of training camp 100 percent and ready to roll, expect a big man to get some rare recognition as an explosive part of this offense.
