The wild card

What happens if all four of the other options in this article end up being absolute failures and the team needs to explore other options for an individual to step in at right guard to be the team’s starter this year?

Well, there are still some options in free agency. Players such as Nick Easton and J.R. Sweezy are still available to be signed but more blockers are sure to become available as teams are forced to make their cuts to make a 53-man roster.

In addition to free agents, there is always trading. If the Minnesota Vikings have a player they are considering releasing, they could trade them or some draft capital in order to boost their talent on the offensive line. Of course, landing a starter this way could be expensive, but if the team wants to be competitive this year they will need to be better on the offensive line.

There is also the chance that one of the unexpected individuals already on the team’s roster can step up and win the job. Players like Zack Bailey, Kyle Hinton, and Cohl Cabral all have an opportunity to step in and take a position this year. However, they will need to excel heading into the season in order to do so.

Who would you like to be the starting right guard for the Minnesota Vikings when the 2021 NFL season begins? And who will the team actually have in that role this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
