Kickstart My Heart

The kicking competition finally got underway on Saturday. Riley Patterson returned to take the field and take some kicks according to Courtney Cronin on Twitter and the results could make things difficult on Greg Joseph.

Joseph has been having a solid camp so far. He has likely gained a big lead over Patterson that would take some effort to overcome. Still, Vikings fans have seen the careers of kickers go south rather quickly and that could be what happens.

Saturday saw the two kickers put forth a pretty even display according to Courtney Cronin on Twitter. She noted that both competitors went two-for-two on their kicks from similar distances, causing a stalemate on Saturday.

This will be a battle to watch that will likely continue until the final round of cuts. The winner will land on the 53-man roster while the team will likely try to land the other kicker on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad for the 2021 NFL season.
