Kirk Cousins and Matt Ryan are eerily similar and that’s terrifying

The contract of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan should scare the Minnesota Vikings as they decide on the future of Kirk Cousins.
The situation surrounding Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and his massive contract is not going to quiet down until a decision is made by the team’s front office. One way or another, his future with the franchise is going to dictate the direction the organization wishes to go under new management and coaching.
Cousins has played well in Minnesota, but not well enough to carry the team, which is typically necessary when pushing for a title. Cousins failed to get the Vikings beyond the NFC Championship after replacing Case Keenum.
Heading into his age-34 season, Cousins has yet to prove that he can be THE guy, and the clock is ticking. With a monstrous cap number at the moment, the Vikings are facing a challenging situation to get depth on the roster while also keeping Cousins happy. That situation is all too familiar for another aging star quarterback in the NFL by the name of Matt Ryan.
Ryan was an underrated quarterback for most of his career, but as he’s gotten older, those thoughts have slowly devolved. After being an MVP and nearly winning a Super Bowl before blowing the infamous 28-3 lead, it has all been downhill for Ryan and the Falcons.
The Vikings cannot afford to make the same mistake as Atlanta when they sort out the quarterback situation this offseason. Let’s take a quick look at Matt Ryan, Kirk Cousins, and how the former can create expectations for Minnesota.
