Vikings Would’ve Had Three More 7th Rounders

Rick Spielman was a man who loved to trade down in the NFL Draft. At times it seemed he actually preferred moving down instead of making actual choices, accumulating a plethora of late-round picks.

The man simply loved seventh-round choices and it seemed his philosophy was that with more picks late in the draft, there’d be a better shot at hitting on one of them and being considered a genius. His strategy rarely paid off, but if he was calling the shots in this draft the Vikings would’ve had a much busier seventh round.

Spielman was probably equally upset that the Vikings only had two sixth-rounders as he surely would’ve made some moves in rounds three and five to move back to get more shots at glory late on Saturday.

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah actually finagled his way into an earlier 7th round choice jumping from 250 to 227 where he selected tight end, Nick Muse. Spielman must’ve been sick to his stomach when he saw that deal, thinking Kwesi was a moron for not taking more chances in the draft’s best round.
