Multiple Vikings rookies projected to start during the 2022 season

PFF recently projected the 2022 regular-season starters for each team in the NFL, and for the Minnesota Vikings, they believe three rookies will start.

During the Mike Zimmer era, getting into the starting lineup was never easy for a player who was in his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings. There were a few exceptions, but for the most part, Zimmer liked to let his rookies learn from the sidelines.

Will the Vikings continue to do something similar with Kevin O’Connell now the team’s head coach? Possibly, but it’s not hard to believe that O’Connell is probably open to almost any method that would lead Minnesota to success.

Heading into the 2022 season, there are a few members of the Vikings’ rookie class that could wind up as Week 1 starters. In fact, PFF believes three rookies will start for Minnesota when the 2022 campaign kicks off in September.

After making a few trades, the Vikings wound up with three selections in the first two rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Former Georgia safety Lewis Cine, former Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth Jr., and former LSU guard Ed Ingram are the players Minnesota decided to draft with their first three picks this year.

Cine is expected by most to begin the 2022 season in the starting lineup for the Vikings, but Booth and Ingram have a decent chance to end up as first-year starters as well.

PFF recently projected every team’s starting lineup for the 2022 campaign, and for Minnesota, they have all three of the team’s first three draft picks earning starting jobs.

For Ingram and Booth, PFF acknowledges that both will have to beat out their competition to start next season. But, obviously, they believe that these two Vikings rookies will win their position battles this summer.

If Minnesota enters their first game of the 2022 season with three rookies in their starting lineup and all of them end up delivering solid performances in their first years with the team, then the tenure of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as the team’s general manager will certainly be off to a great start.
