4 positions the Vikings could still upgrade in free agency in 2022

Defensive Tackle
Defensive tackle is on here for a couple of reasons. First of all, with the transition to a 3-4 defense, it’s unclear at this point who exactly will be playing where, and that leaves some uncertainty about how the depth chart will shake out exactly.
Dalvin Tomlinson, Harrison Phillips, and Armon Watts will be the three men with their hands in the dirt when the Vikings do line up with that three-man front. Who will be in the middle is the question. Tomlinson played nose in his time with the New York Giants, which was also Phillips’ role when he was with the Buffalo Bills, so someone will have to kick outside.
No matter where they end up lining up, that is a pretty formidable front. Who the next men up will be decided in training camp, and it should be a good battle to watch.
A quick glimpse down the depth chart can make one feel uneasy though, as Jonathan Bullard, who was signed after the draft, and James Lynch are the most experienced options. If the Vikings get a few weeks into camp and players like Jaylen Twyman and Esezi Otemewo aren’t showing much, they could start to become concerned.
This concern leads directly to the second reason this position could be boosted in free agency and that is the Ndamukong Suh rumor that just won’t go away. Apparently, Minnesota and the Las Vegas Raiders are still talking to Suh’s people.
The Vikings could be doing some forward thinking, realizing that their depth behind the big three is questionable at best, and there’s a good chance they won’t want to keep much of anything that they currently see.
Suh, even at his old age, would be a veteran presence who could still provide a big play here or there, and that can’t be said about much else on this depth chart.
