The Minnesota Vikings are embarking on a critical offseason, but who are some of their early targets in the 2023 NFL Draft?
The Minnesota Vikings have officially reached the offseason. The next few months will go a long way to determine how the Vikings will look in 2023 and beyond but while there are plenty of contract negotiations and free-agent signings to hold us over, everyone wants to know who the Vikings will be selecting in the 2023 NFL Draft.
After trading up for Akayleb Evans in last year’s draft and dealing for T.J. Hockenson, Jalen Reagor, and Ross Blacklock last season, the Vikings have just four picks heading into this year’s draft.
It’s unlikely that veterans such as Adam Thielen, Eric Kendricks, and Dalvin Cook will fetch significant draft capital in a trade. After going 13-3 last season, it’s unlikely the Vikings will want to part with some of their productive players like Danielle Hunter, Za’Darius Smith, and Harrison Smith.
This means that Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will have to trade his way through his second draft as general manager to fix a team that expects to contend but could have several needs by the time the draft comes around.
While some of those holes could be filled in free agency, we did our best to not only list some of the Vikings’ draft targets but predict when and where they could trade down via Pro Football Focus’s mock draft simulator in our latest seven-round mock draft.
