Agent of Adam Thielen fires back at ‘lazy and very inaccurate’ critics
By Adam Patrick
The agent of former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen took to Twitter on Tuesday to defend his client from some of his current critics.
In three of his final four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Adam Thielen failed to accumulate a total of more than 730 receiving yards in all of the games he appeared in each year.
It’s completely fair to declare that Thielen is no longer the dynamic wide receiver that he was for the Vikings in 2017 and 2018, when he averaged 102 catches, 1,325 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns per season. Despite there being proof of his decline taking place during the last few years, the agent of the former Minnesota receiver, Blake Baratz, recently took exception to someone on Twitter criticizing his client’s performance on Tuesday.
Will the agent of former Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen end up being correct?
After the original tweeter responded to Baratz with another post, Thielen’s agent continued to fire back with claims of people not having enough “factual information” to predict his client’s future.
In his first, and what appears to be his only season, under Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell, Thielen finished the 2022 campaign second on the team in targets with 107 while hauling in 70 passes for 716 yards and six touchdowns.
The veteran receiver was clearly frustrated with his role in O’Connell’s offense, as it didn’t take long for him to talk about how he wants an opportunity in 2023 to show that he can still “play at a high level.”
Eventually, Minnesota decided to release Thielen, and the 32-year-old is currently a free agent in need of a new team for the 2023 season.
He was reportedly scheduled to meet with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, and if that visit goes well, then Thielen could be taking his talents to the NFC South for his 11th year in the NFL.
