Bryan Bresee is an interesting prospect and one who is a true wild card in this draft with a wide range of where he could come off the board. He was a top national recruit coming out of high school but has had to overcome some major hurdles in his time at Clemson.

In 2021, he suffered an ACL injury that cost him the majority of his season. He also had shoulder surgery the following January. Then as a junior last year, he had to play through the trauma of losing his sister to a rare form of brain cancer. Despite those extreme hardships, Bresee has shown great resilience and has still been able to keep himself in the mix to get his name called on the draft’s first day.

He has a big body and surprising athleticism. He can eat up blocks while also providing interior pressure. Bresee could be a great fit as a five-technique base defensive end in Flores’ scheme and could develop into a star in that role. There are some concerns regarding his overall lack of stats at Clemson, but he seems like a player whose best football is ahead of him.

Bresee is definitely in play for the Minnesota Vikings at pick 23 and could be someone they could still land if they trade down a few spots toward the back of the first round.
