Former Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph is joining the NBC Sports broadcast booth for the latest season of the USFL.
Life as a player in the NFL is almost at its end for former Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph. After parting with the Vikings during the 2021 offseason, Rudolph has spent the last two years struggling to find a fit in the offenses of the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The former Minnesota tight end is currently a free agent, and at the age of 33, it’s quite possible that his time in the NFL could be coming to a close sooner than later.
Luckily, Rudolph appears to realize that his time in the league is almost over too, and he’s already pursuing something that could end up being what’s next in his career path.
Former Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph to be an NBC Sports analyst for USFL games
A few days ago, NBC Sports revealed the members of their broadcast team for the 2023 USFL season. In the announcement, it was shared that Rudolph is going to be one of the color analysts inside the NBC Sports broadcast booth for some of the USFL games this year.
The former Vikings tight end is one of six analysts who will help play-by-play commentators Jac Collinsworth and Paul Burmeister call the USFL games from this season that are scheduled to air on an NBC Sports-affiliated network.
This year, 11 USFL games will be airing on NBC, and seven other matchups will be shown on the USA Network. All of these games will also be available on the Peacock streaming app.
Specifics of which games Rudolph will be a part of have not yet been revealed. The 2023 USFL season began earlier this weekend on Saturday, April 15, and the league’s championship matchup is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 1, on NBC.
