The Minnesota Vikings are still searching for a proven second receiver to pair with Justin Jefferson, who’s widely regarded as the NFL’s premier wideout after he led the league with 128 catches and 1,809 yards last season.

In a perfect world, Osborn will emerge as Jefferson’s sidekick. The 2020 fifth-round pick has showed flashes that indicate he’s capable of carrying that burden, but he was stuck in Adam Thielen’s shadow the last two years. In 2022, his 74.7% snap share lagged behind Thielen’s 89.2%.

Despite that, Osborn was the more productive receiver. If given Thielen’s workload, Osborn would’ve blown past Thielen’s numbers.

For context, Osborn logged 60 catches for 650 yards and five touchdowns, while Thielen caught 70 balls for 716 yards and six scores.

Perhaps it’s a matter of Minnesota taking the training wheels of Osborn for him to really burst onto the scene. One Vikings fan — whose name you might recognize — isn’t of that mindset, however, and took to Twitter to let his feelings known about the state of the team’s receiver room and roster.

KJ Obsorn replies to Twitter hater who ripped the Vikings roster.

Vikings Twitter is all to familiar with this “fan.” It appears Osborn is familiar with his work, too, as the budding 25-year-old uncorked a reply that his hang-on-the-rim worthy. Check this out, Vikings fans.

Rick Sosa has to delete his account now, right? Isn’t that how this works?

In all seriousness, Osborn brings up a great point. Yes, Minnesota crashed out of the playoffs at home against an inferior Giants team on Wild Card Weekend after the media spent months pegging them as frauds, but for this fan to spread the narrative that the Vikings’ roster lacks quality players is laughable.

Speaking of that loss, was it not a summation of the Kirk Cousins era? Why shouldn’t the new regime look towards the future? He has one year left on his contract and the Vikings have missed the playoffs entirely in three of the five years he’s been the starter, all the while making a king’s ransom.

Further, Sosa contradicts himself in scoffing at the idea of drafting a quarterback –and moving off Cousins — as doing so would reset the money at the position and therefore allow the front office to add more quality players. Oops!

And find us a team that isn’t thin at linebacker and the interior offensive line. Teams paying quarterbacks significant money typically lack depth at certain positions.

The Vikings roster isn’t without flaws, but Sosa’s tweet seemingly took aim at Kwesi Adofo-Mensah a year into his tenure. It was totally uncalled for, and Osborn was more than justified putting him in his place.
