The Minnesota Vikings have forced themselves into a corner with their limited assets for the 2025 NFL Draft. As it currently stands, the Vikings have a selection in the first round and two picks in the fifth round, along with another likely third-round selection in the form of a compensatory pick for Kirk Cousins leaving in free agency last offseason.
Minnesota has almost forced itself to trade back from the first round to accumulate more assets throughout the draft.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at how a 2025 mock draft might look if the Vikings decide to completely trade out of the first round.
2025 Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft: Trading out of the first round
Trade: Vikings trade pick No. 28 to the Jacksonville Jaguars for pick No. 33, No. 92 and No. 249
Second Round Pick (33rd Overall)
Jonah Savaiinaea - OL (Arizona)
The 2025 starting left and right guards probably aren't currently on Minnesota's roster. Expect the Vikings to spend big on a top free-agent interior offensive lineman in free agency next year and then find another in the 2025 NFL Draft like Arizona's Jonah Savaiinaea.
Savaiinaea is an absolute mauler who is better suited inside than at his current spot at offensive tackle. The Arizona Wildcat is efficient at both run blocking and pass blocking, something Minnesota could desperately use right now.
Third-Round Pick No. 1 (92nd Overall)
Dontay Corleone - IDL (Cincinnati)
With it looking like there will be a weak free agency class for interior defensive linemen in 2025, the Vikings will likely need to turn to the draft next year to add more depth to the position group.
Dontay Corleone, at one point in his college career, was viewed as a first-round prospect, but with some unfortunate injury luck, he might not go in the first two rounds.
Third-Round Pick No. 2 (100th Overall)
Devin Neal - RB (Kansas)
Assuming they re-sign Aaron Jones next year, Minnesota will need a reliable No. 2 running back in 2025.
Kansas's Devin Neal would be the perfect compliment to Jones or any veteran back the Vikings sign in the offseason. Neal is a “slasher” style back that can catch, and the current Jayhawks senior has the look and style of today's top running backs.
Fifth-Round Pick No. 1 (141st Overall)
Zy Alexander - CB (LSU)
Zy Alexander’s name has started to skyrocket up draft boards these last few weeks. But considering he had some early struggles this season, he could absolutely be on the board in the fifth round when Minnesota is on the clock.
Alexander is a scheme-versatile corner who could prove to be a solid rotational player in Brian Flores’s defense if he returns to the Vikings in 2025.
Fifth-Round Pick No. 2 (164th Overall)
Mitchell Evans - TE (Notre Dame)
Minnesota tight end Johnny Mundt is scheduled to hit free agency this offseason, and it's hard to imagine him coming back in 2025.
Notre Dame's Mitchell Evans is an underrated prospect in the upcoming tight end draft class. Evans is a better pass catcher and blocker than Mundt is, and he could help make the Vikings' offense even more dangerous next season.
Seventh-Round Pick (249th Overall)
De’Corian Clark - WR (UTSA)
Minnesota doesn't really have a reliable No. 3 wide receiver on its current roster. Jalen Nailor has not shown enough to prove he can handle the role in 2025, and Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield are more gadget-type guys than they are legitimate receiving threats.
De’Corian Clark is a massive receiver, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing over 215 pounds. Clark is that big-bodied, go-up-and-get-it-type of receiver the Vikings just don’t have on the roster right now.
