Following their 24-21 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings will travel to London to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 5. That game planning they were going to do will have a little wrinkle to it.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the Houston Texans are trading left tackle Cam Robinson to the Cleveland Browns, with late-round picks being swapped as part of the deal. Robinson started just one game for the Texans and appeared in three, but has been the subject of trade rumors over the last month.
Vikings fans should be super familiar with Robinson since he was the starting left tackle for the team last year for 10 games. Minnesota traded him and a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for another Day 3 pick.
How should Minnesota Vikings fans feel about Robinson now going up against them on Sunday?
It was an up-and-down short tenure for Robinson as he played and started in 10 games before signing with the Texans in the offseason. While the veteran held his own, he did struggle with penalties, with nine total being accepted, and five of them were false starts.
Now he joins a Browns team that is looking for its first win of the season after four weeks. Robinson will be a nice upgrade for a line that has struggled to keep Joe Flacco upright throughout the regular season.
The one thing to keep in mind, though, is that Robinson is familiar with what the Vikings do and could give Cleveland a slight advantage going into the contest. He knows how the offense operates and could share what the Browns need to look out for.
Will that make a difference? Probably not as many believe the Vikings will be the favorites to win the game. They are already 5.5-point favorites over the Browns.
The Vikings may not be perfect right now, but the Browns are a mess and one that Minnesota can take advantage of and deliver a much-needed win before the bye week.
