The Minnesota Vikings got some business done on the first day of "legal tampering" during the 2025 NFL offseason. They brought in a couple of new faces, re-signed some contributors from last year, and said goodbye to a few pending free agents.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the moves the Vikings will make this offseason. Minnesota will look to fill out their roster and accumulate as much talent as possible in the hope of competing for the NFC North crown this season.
But which remaining available free agents would be great fits for the Minnesota Vikings this offseason? Let's take a look at five dream targets.
Best of the rest: 5 dream Minnesota Vikings free agent targets remaining in 2025
Will Fries, guard - Indianapolis Colts
So far, the biggest new face coming to the Minnesota Vikings this offseason is center Ryan Kelly. It might be a good idea to get a starting-caliber guard to start next to him on the offensive line. There wouldn't be a much better option than his former teammate in Indianapolis, Will Fries. The team needs to be serious about protecting J.J. McCarthy this season and opening holes in the run game for Aaron Jones.
Jonathan Allen, defensive tackle - Washington Commanders
The trenches on both sides of the ball need to be reinforced and bringing in a Pro Bowl defensive tackle like Jonathan Allen would be a huge boost to a solid, yet inconsistent defense led by coordinator Brian Flores. He is visiting Minnesota, so let's hope a deal gets done to keep him here.
Jeff Okudah, cornerback - Houston Texans
The Vikings have already re-signed Byron Murphy Jr. and signed former Eagles corner Isaiah Rodgers, but that doesn't mean Minnesota should be done building their cornerback room. A 26-year-old veteran like Jeff Okudah is coming off a frustrating year cut short by a hip injury and a concussion and could be looking to prove himself with a team on the rise.
Robert Woods, wide receiver - Houston Texans
Robert Woods is 32-years old and coming off the lowest output of his career last year, but he has averaged 12.1 yards per reception over his career and might be a solid, yet inexpensive option to be Minnesota's third receiver behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Having a veteran pass-catcher familiar with head coach Kevin O'Connell might do wonders for his career.
Jevon Holland, safety - Miami Dolphins
Losing starting safety Camryn Bynum is a blow to the Vikings' defense. 25-year-old Jevon Holland might be an interesting safety to bring to Minnesota to work with Brian Flores since the two overlapped for a season in Miami. 57 games of starting experience in four seasons since being a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
