The situation with former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins gets more interesting with every passing day. After spending six seasons in Washington and six seasons with the purple and gold, his two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons seem less than memorable.

Now, the 37-year-old quarterback is in a sticky situation. Released by Atlanta, Cousins has many options as to where to play football next if he decides to continue his career as a passer in the NFL.

Although the Vikings are an extreme long shot to sign Cousins to return to Minnesota, there are plenty of teams that could be interested in acquiring the services of a quarterback with the type of experience the former Michigan State talent offers.

Los Angeles Rams could be next team to take chance on former Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins

On Monday, there was a surprising development in the Kirk Cousins saga. The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback was mentioned as a possible candidate for a job with the Los Angeles Rams under certain conditions.

During the owners meetings in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Rams head coach Sean McVay talked about a possible reunion with Cousins if things don't work out with Jimmy Garoppolo.

“If it doesn’t work out with Jimmy, that’s definitely something that — Kirk is as influential as anybody in helping me get to L.A. in the first place. I know he’s got some other options and some other suitors, but Jimmy and Kirk are guys that I’d love to have back with us.”

About a decade ago, McVay and KCousins were together in Washington. With only Stetson Bennett behind Matthew Stafford on the Rams' quarterback depth chart, it's not surprising that the NFC West team is on the prowl for a veteran passer this offseason.

McVay was the offensive coordinator in Washington while Cousins was there, and his guidance was a huge factor in the four-time Pro Bowl quarterback being successful there and coming to the Vikings as a free agent.

Now, the successful NFC coach and his former quarterback have an opportunity to reunite on the West Coast.

Fans will want to keep an eye on this situation since Los Angeles could sign either Jimmy Garoppolo or Cousins to their roster at any time to give their quarterback position more depth for the 2026 NFL season.
