The Minnesota Vikings attacked free agency this season with an aggressive pursuit of talent on both sides of the ball. An area of focus was the trenches, where the purple and gold looked to improve their offensive and defensive lines.
Bringing in center Ryan Kelly and guard Will Fries signals major changes on the offensive line. The Vikings have already traded away former starting guard Ed Ingram and the team is expected to release last season's starting center if they can't find a trade partner.
Garrett Bradbury was a first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He has started six seasons for the purple and gold. There is hope a deal can get done to get some kind of value for him in a trade rather than outright releasing him.
Garrett Bradbury trade idea has him reuniting with former Minnesota Vikings QB this year
Seattle Sports radio host and former NFL quarterback Brock Huard recently discussed the situation with Garrett Bradbury and feels that the Minnesota Vikings center could be a solid addition for the Seattle Seahawks this offseason.
The Seahawks made some waves this offseason by trading quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders and then signing Sam Darnold to replace him as the team's starter. Darnold's familiarity with Bradbury is a major selling point for the potential trade.
"Sam just loved playing with him last year in Minnesota. And you know what I love? QB-center interaction."Brock Huard
This is a deal that would make a lot of sense for both sides. The Vikings signed former Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly this offseason and are looking to move on from Bradbury. If Seattle was willing to give up a Day 3 pick in the draft, they could likely acquire his serves and have a familiar center for their new quarterback.
"When you can find a center that knows the system, that can communicate right alongside you, it just takes some of the ease and some of the burden off of you. When you love the way he snaps the ball to you, when you guys are simpatico, it’s a good thing."Brock Huard
Familiarity and trust are things that a lot of fans don't consider when thinking about assembling a team. Getting as much amazing talent as possible is great, but it is wasted if the players can't work together toward a common goal.
Keep an eye on the Seahawks to potentially show interest in Minnesota Vikings center Garrett Bradbury, whether it is in a trade or if he is released this offseason.
