After another abysmal outing in Sunday's terrible loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the Minnesota Vikings have now scored a total of six points and averaged 153.5 yards of offense in their last two games.

In the middle of the TV broadcast on Sunday, FOX's Greg Olsen shared what lies ahead for Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell as he attempts to figure out how to get his offense out of a rut.

"It's going to be a difficult week in Minnesota. Kevin O'Connell, he's built up a lot of good grace; he's built up a lot of credit.

...But Kevin O'Connell's going to have to face a lot of questions.

If they can't figure out the quarterback position, and really, on a larger level, just figure out how to get some element of production out of the offense, because this defense is playing good ball, these last couple weeks, they've played winning ball, [but] it means nothing if you're gonna be just completely inept on the offensive side of the ball."

Can Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell fix his offense this season?

Whatever O'Connell and Minnesota have to do in order to fix the team's offense, it has to be done sooner rather than later.

Does this possibly involve O'Connell giving up play-calling for the rest of the season and taking a bit of a step back? Perhaps, but that's something that many would need to see actually happen before believing it.

Would O'Connell's ego even let him do that? He's coming off a 2024 season where he was named the NFL's Coach of the Year, and everyone was singing his praises for turning around the career of Sam Darnold.

Does he believe that Minnesota's offensive struggles are more on the personnel than his play-calling? That's possible, but while players have to execute the plays they are told to run, the play-caller also has to put his guys in the best position to succeed, and it can easily be argued that O'Connell hasn't done this well enough this season.

To be fair to the head coach and the Vikings, they've faced two of the best defenses in the NFL this year, the Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, in their last two games. So getting to play against some defenses that aren't as elite as those two should be a big help for the offense during the next few weeks.

But if Minnesota's offense continues to struggle against more mediocre defenses, then O'Connell is going to have even more questions to answer as the team's 2025 season continues to fall well short of the expectations they had heading into Week 1.
