It took Max Brosmer 1 game to prove he's not the Vikings' savior

Minnesota Vikings fans had all week to convince themselves that undrafted rookie quarterback Max Brosmer was going to be the guy to turn things around, or at least give the team some hope, in a tough Week 13 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Well, J.J. McCarthy can go to bed on Sunday without a worry in the world that his starting job is in jeopardy after Brosmer threw not one, not two, not even three, but four interceptions in an embarrassing 26-0 loss to the Seahawks.

With the loss (which is a very nice way to describe it), Minnesota's record for the season has now dropped to 4-8, and if it hadn't already, the focus on the 2026 NFL Draft and the upcoming offseason can now begin.

Overall, Brosmer completed 63.3 percent of his passes in the matchup. So he was a bit more accurate than what Vikings fans had seen from McCarthy in the last few weeks.

The problem was that he was also accurate on his throws to the other team.

Brosmer's first interception was completely avoidable as it occurred after he just threw the ball in the air while being sacked in the second quarter. Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones snagged the football and then proceeded to return it 85 yards the other way for a touchdown.

After that, it seemed like the moment was completely too big for Brosmer, who was making the very first start of his NFL career. If that's how he's going to play, he probably won't be getting too many more opportunities to start at the pro level.

Brosmer finished the contest with 126 passing yards, no touchdowns, four interceptions, and a 32.8 passer rating. For context, McCarthy finished with a 34.2 passer rating in Minnesota's loss to the Green Bay Packers last week when he only threw for 87 yards.

Next week, McCarthy should be back in the starting lineup, and he'll get to see if he can finish the contest against the Washington Commanders with a passer rating over 40.

It's no guarantee, but this is what the season has now come to for Vikings fans!
