Historic Jordan Addison day helps Vikings escape Week 12 with win over Bears
By Adam Patrick
Against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Justin Jefferson finished with just two catches for 27 yards. Typically, that would make a win more difficult for the Vikings to achieve, but that wasn't the case this weekend thanks to Jordan Addison stepping up and having himself a career day.
During Minnesota's 30-27 overtime victory over the Bears on Sunday, Addison ended up with eight catches for 162 yards and one touchdown. Addison's receiving yardage total eclipsed a previous single-game career-high of 123 yards that he finished with during the Vikings' Week 7 win over the San Francisco 49ers last season.
After a bit of a slow start to his 2024 campaign with only one touchdown catch in his first five games, Addison has now found the end zone in three of Minnesota's last four matchups.
Win over Chicago Bears means the Minnesota Vikings went undefeated during 3-game road trip
After the Vikings were able to come out of what was believed to be the tougher half of their 2024 schedule with a 6-2 record, the next task in front of them was a stretch of three straight road games.
Minnesota was able to come away with victories on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans leading up to Sunday. And for a little bit, it seemed like the Vikings weren't going to get a win this weekend, but then they found a way to sneak out of Chicago with an overtime victory.
With the win, Minnesota is now 9-2 this season, and they remain right in the thick of the race for the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Unfortunately, the Detroit Lions are still in the lead of both of those races after they were also able to get a win on Sunday and improve their record to 9-1.
Next for the Vikings is a Week 13 matchup against a feisty Arizona Cardinals team. But for the first time since Week 9, Minnesota will get to play this game in front of its home crowd inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
