Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy is well-positioned for success in 2025, thanks to his stellar wide receivers, Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Jefferson is in a class of his own as one of the elite wide receivers in the NFL, but many people overlook Addison and his true greatness. His speed and hands help separate him from the rest of the number two receivers around the league.

Vikings fans already know how great Addison is and the difference maker he can be. Is the rest of the NFL aware?

Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison named one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL

Bleacher Report writer Alex Kay named the top six most underrated wide receivers in the NFL. On the list, Addison was ranked second behind San Francisco 49ers' Jauan Jennings. Addison gets overshadowed by Jefferson, but is truly one of the great receivers in the game.

"Despite playing second fiddle to one of the NFL’s best receivers and working with five different quarterbacks across his first two seasons, Jordan Addison has found a way to dominate for the Minnesota Vikings.

There’s little Addison can’t do, although his production is certainly tempered by the presence of elite skill position teammates. Whether he’s burning corners deep in single coverage or slipping into the defense’s soft spot for easy touchdowns, the talented wideout has managed to produce at an extremely efficient rate while still allowing Jefferson and tight end T.J. Hockenson to get their star-caliber numbers.

Now set to work with yet another new starter in second-year passer J.J. McCarthy, Addison projects to continue setting the standard for No. 2 WRs in 2025."

Through two years in the NFL, Addison has caught 133 passes for 1,786 yards and 19 touchdowns. Despite seeing a dip in receptions, yards, and touchdowns from 2023 to 2024, Addison saw his average yards per catch increase from 13 in 2023 to 13.9 last year.

Jefferson is seen as a deep threat on the roster, but Addison became more of a big-play player in 2024, as he was able to secure YAC plays. His precision focus on his routes has helped him slowly climb the ranks of the top receivers in the NFL.

Minnesota will be leaning more on Addison to take another leap in his performance in 2025, with a young quarterback in place. With Addison, Jefferson, and Hockenson leading the passing game, it should be smooth sailing for the Vikings.
