It's been quite the disappointing season for Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, to say the least, and some news about the 2026 Pro Bowl Games just made it even more upsetting.
For just the second time in Jefferson's NFL career, he is not among the initial wide receivers who have been selected for the NFC's Pro Bowl roster. Instead, the spots were given to Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams, Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seattle Seahawks, George Pickens of the Dallas Cowboys, and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions.
Unfortunately, this really shouldn't come as a surprise. Jefferson hasn't even passed the 1,000 receiving-yard mark yet this season, and there are only two games left. Safe to say, he'll be extra motivated to come back with a vengeance next year, and that's terrible news for the rest of the NFL.
Zero Minnesota Vikings players selected to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games
As if the team's top receiver not earning a selection wasn't bad enough, Tuesday's NFC roster reveal for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games didn't include a single Minnesota player.
That's right, not even Vikings long snapper Andrew DePaola, who has been a part of the NFC's last three Pro Bowl rosters, was among this season's selections.
According to ESPN's Kevin Seifert, this is just the third time in Minnesota's team history that none of their players have been chosen for one of the Pro Bowl's initial rosters. The other two instances happened back in 2014 and 1983.
Including alternates, seven members of the 2024 Vikings were selected to last season's Pro Bowl Games, so to have zero from this year's team is incredibly disappointing to say the absolute least.
The New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, and Minnesota are the only teams from this season to not have any players selected to the Pro Bowl Games. Definitely not what anyone from the Vikings was expecting this year after the team won 14 games just a season ago.
