While Minnesota Vikings fans are struggling not to laugh, Green Bay Packers fans aren't too happy with a prediction from FanSided's Chris Schad that was made on a recent episode of "The Viking Age Podcast".
"The Packers are going to finish last in the NFC North. They have so much drama going on right
now because [of] the whole receiver thing. And then all the receivers are like, 'What do you mean you don't have an alpha over here?' Well, you're Jayden Reed, and you only have 800 yards receiving.
I mean, they overpaid two free agents in Nate Hobbs and Aaron Banks. Elgton Jenkins, he wants to move to center, but he wants a new contract because he has no money and they don't want to give him a new contract because of what if he sucks at center and they [already] gave Aaron Banks a ton of money.
Jaire Alexander's still on the roster, and I guess [he's] still talking to them, [but] even if he does play, he'll play like four games, and it won't be against the Vikings.
And, oh by the way, the guy that's leading the team is the most explosive powder keg west of Philadelphia. It is literally Frank the Tank from 'Old School' leading that team.
'We have to keep our composure!'"
Green Bay Packers finishing last in the NFC North would be incredibly enjoyable for Minnesota Vikings fans
Heading into the 2025 NFL season, the goal of the Vikings is to compete for a championship. If for whatever reason, Minnesota is unable to achieve that goal, then something like the Packers finishing last in the NFC North in 2025 would certainly be a satisfying consolation prize.
Green Bay is coming off a 2024 season that saw them begin with a 9-3 record and then proceed to lose four of their final six games, including a first-round loss in the playoffs and a Week 17 loss to the Vikings.
The Packers' two biggest additions in free agency this year, cornerback Nate Hobbs and guard Aaron Banks, didn't really generate a ton of excitement for the fan base.
Green Bay finally selected a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft this past April when they picked Matthew Golden, but that also just added even more confusion to a position group that was already packed full of questions.
In each of their first three seasons with Matt LaFleur as their head coach, the Packers won 13 games. But in the last three years, Green Bay has only won more than nine games in a single season once.
If things get off the rails in 2025, the Packers might be on their way to the franchise's first last-place finish in the NFC North since the 2005 season when some guy named Aaron Rodgers was a rookie.
