Kyler Murray and Jordan Addison are laying the groundwork for something big

If Kyler Murray is going to succeed during the upcoming season with the Minnesota Vikings, getting the ball in the hands of wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison will be priorities No. 1 and No. 2.

No word yet on if Jefferson and Murray have trained together at all this summer, but the Vikings quarterback has reportedly been working out with Addison for the past two months in Dallas, Texas, according to independent NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

Schultz shared this information on his X account and included a clip of Murray and Addison connecting on a pair of deep throws by the veteran signal-caller.

Whether they admit it or not, money is going to be a big motivating factor for both Murray and Addison during the 2026 season.

Murray is only under contract with Minnesota for a year, so when the 2026 campaign concludes, he will hit free agency again in the 2027 offseason. Depending on how he performs in 2026 with the Vikings, he could potentially land a new, lucrative, multi-year contract from Minnesota or another team next offseason.

Addison's situation is a little different since he's still under contract with the Vikings after the 2026 season. However, it's only for another year, so he will be looking to convince Minnesota during the upcoming season that he's worth a high-priced, multi-year extension that will keep him on the team for more than just the 2027 campaign.

If they don't play well for the Vikings this season, then Murray will most likely be looking for a new team in 2027, and Addison could potentially be traded before he even gets a chance to finish the final year of his rookie contract in a Minnesota uniform.

But judging by the way they've been training this summer, they're doing as much as they can to ensure both of them can cash in after the upcoming season.
