Training camp is a fun time for Minnesota Vikings fans. They get to see the team prepare for the 2025 NFL season as well as experience newly signed free agents and draft picks for the first time since signing with the team.
Another great reason to enjoy training camp is that it brings out some of the team's legends. On Saturday, former Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter was part of training camp activities in front of stands full of fans.
Minnesota Vikings legend Cris Carter led the SKOL chant at training camp
In a video shared on the official X account of the Minnesota Vikings, Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter was shown leading the SKOL chant for the fans in attendance to raise the energy level at training camp.
With training camp taking place in Eagan, Minnesota, the fans at Viking Lakes also saw an enthusiastic Walter Rouse getting in on the fun. The offensive lineman joined Carter with the chant while rookie guard Donovan Jackson was hyped up near the end zone.
Vikings fans know the energy that the SKOL chant can bring. Hearing the fans in the stands join Cater, Rouse, and Jackson in the chant should make fans even more excited about how quickly NFL action will be on their televisions.
The Hall of Fame game kicks off on Thursday with the Detroit Lions facing the Los Angeles Chargers to kick off the preseason. That game is part of Hall of Fame weekend in Canton, where legendary Vikings edge rusher Jared Allen will be inducted.
Minnesota's preseason doesn't start until August 9 when they host the Houston Texans at U.S. Bank Stadium. There is still a lot to do before that game, including learning the playbooks and getting in playing shape for when the regular season rolls around.
The Vikings' final preseason game is on August 22 when they visit Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans. By then, head coach Kevin O'Connell should have a clearer ides of how the 53-man roster is going to look for the 2025 NFL season.
While it's fun to look ahead to the future, appreciating the past is important too. For Cris Carter to share some time to be at Minnesota Vikings training camp and participate in the SKOL chant is special and something that the fans in attendance were fortunate to be a part of.
