Free agency for the Minnesota Vikings this offseason hasn't exactly been full of excitement and big splashy moves. But that doesn't mean the Vikings haven't made any notable decisions since free agency unofficially began on Monday.

Minnesota has already placed affordable tenders on multiple players, and on Tuesday, they agreed to a deal with Andrew DePaola to keep him with the team for at least one more season.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, DePaola and the Vikings have agreed to a new, fully guaranteed one-year contract that's worth $1.725 million.

Re-signing Andrew DePaola not flashy, but necessary for Minnesota Vikings

After punter Ryan Wright parted with Minnesota on Monday to sign a four-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, the Vikings quickly made sure to keep DePaola in the building for another season.

During the last two years, the veteran long-snapper, Wright, and kicker Will Reichard formed a marvelous special teams trio that helped the Vikings develop into one of the most reliable teams in the NFL when it comes to field goals and extra points.

With Wright heading to New Orleans, Minnesota will have to find a new holder for the operation. But with DePaola returning, the Vikings should feel good that at least two of the three members of the kicking trio will be sticking around for the 2026 season.

DePaola's value to Minnesota also goes way beyond what he does out on the field. In each of the last two years, the Vikings have selected him as one of their team captains, and it's safe to say he'll probably end up receiving the honor once again for the 2026 campaign.

With Tuesday's news, Minnesota has now announced the signings of DePaola, linebacker Eric Wilson, defensive lineman Jalen Redmond, edge rusher Bo Richter, running back Zavier Scott, linebacker Ivan Pace Jr., and former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback James Pierre.
