After six years with the franchise, the Minnesota Vikings have decided to officially end their relationship with veteran center Garrett Bradbury.
On Monday, the Vikings announced their decision to release Bradbury. The 29-year-old offensive lineman will now be free to sign with any team that presents him an offer this offseason.
Bradbury originally joined Minnesota after the team selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The hope was that he could develop into, at the very least, a Pro Bowl-caliber center, but that isn't something that he was ever able to accomplish during his tenure with the Vikings.
Where will Garrett Bradbury play in 2025 after getting released by the Minnesota Vikings?
Last week, it was revealed that Minnesota was attempting to trade Bradbury, and they would release him if they were unable to find another team to make a deal with.
Well, based on Monday's news, the Vikings clearly could not find a team that was willing to trade for the six-year starter. So, unfortunately, Minnesota won't even receive a nearly-meaningless 2026 or 2027 late-round draft pick for all the time they spent during the last six years attempting to turn Bradbury into a reliable blocker.
What's next for Bradbury? Well, considering he has an extensive amount of experience as a starter in the NFL, there's a good chance that he will find a new home for the 2025 season.
Bradbury already has some connections to multiple teams that might be interested in signing him like the Seattle Seahawks (Sam Darnold) and the Atlanta Falcons (offensive line coach worked with him in college). Then there's the remarks from ESPN's Mike Reiss on Monday that the former Vikings center landing with the New England Patriots this year "wouldn't be a surprise."
Bradbury is one of 14 players who were selected by Minnesota with a first-round draft pick during Rick Spielman's tenure as the team's general manager from 2012 to 2021. Of those 14 selections, Harrison Smith, Justin Jefferson, and Christian Darrisaw are now the only ones who are still with the Vikings.
