Writing may be on the wall for Stefon Diggs and one AFC powerhouse

Following his seventh season with at least 1,000 receiving yards in his NFL career, former Minnesota Vikings pass-catcher Stefon Diggs is still without a team for the 2026 campaign.

There are multiple teams that could use Diggs in their wide receiver room, but NFLTradeRumors.co's Ethan Woodie recently shared his belief that there's an obvious landing spot for the former Vikings fifth-round draft pick.

"[The Kansas City Chiefs are] the most obvious landing spot for Diggs.

...Diggs would be a seamless fit with this Kansas City roster. He can step in and be their No. 1 option if they need him to be, but even if [Rashee] Rice plays 17 games, the two players can coexist.

That would slide [Xavier] Worthy down to his more natural role as a deep-threat/gadget WR3, while still allowing room for [Jalen] Royals or [Cyrus] Allen to make an impact with less responsibility thrust upon their shoulders right away.

All in all, a good fit for both sides."

Former Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs wouldn't be the first controversial player to join the Kansas City Chiefs

Under the leadership of head coach Andy Reid, the Chiefs haven't been afraid to take a chance on a player who has found themselves in the headlines for the wrong reasons. So, if there's any team that is willing to take a risk on Diggs before the start of the 2026 season, Kansas City makes a lot of sense.

Diggs was just involved in a highly publicized trial earlier this year after one of his former personal chefs accused him of strangulation and assault and battery. Two days into the trial, a jury quickly found him not guilty of all charges.

That's not the only off-the-field controversy that Diggs has found himself in the middle of during the last several years, so every team in the league knows there is an added risk when signing him to a contract.

But with his recent legal battle behind him and the NFL stating that he will not be facing a suspension, the former Minnesota receiver will probably land with a new team before the start of training camp this summer.

It won't be with the Vikings, but will it be with the Chiefs, or will another team believe that the potential reward from signing Diggs will outweigh the risk?
