The early part of the Minnesota Vikings' offseason got off to a rough start when news broke that wide receiver Jordan Addison had been arrested in Florida in the early hours of Monday morning. He posted a $500 bond and was released from custody on the same day.
Head coach Kevin O'Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah met with the media for season-closing press conferences not long after the news about Addison broke, and as expected, their comments were mostly generic due to it being too early to draw any conclusions or make any firm comments without all the available information.
Seminole Indian Police reportedly arrested Addison at 3:46 a.m. EST on January 12. He was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance.
Addison's legal team did post a statement after news of the arrest surfaced on Tuesday, expressing confidence that their client would be fully exonerated once the legal process plays out.
More details about the arrest of Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison are now public
TMZ recently shared some new details about Addison's arrest, and while they add some additional context to the incident, they also leave plenty of questions unanswered
"Police documents indicate law enforcement was dispatched to the Noodle Bar, located inside the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Florida, after Addison, 23, refused to leave the restaurant despite several requests from casino security.
It’s unclear why they wanted Addison removed.
The docs say that while being escorted out, Addison had to be redirected to the front exit multiple times before authorities ultimately arrested him for trespassing."
This, of course, is not Addison's first run-in with the law during his NFL career.
In July 2023, heading into his rookie season, he was cited for speeding and reckless driving after being clocked going 140 MPH in Minnesota.
In July 2024, he was arrested for DUI after being found asleep behind the wheel of a car on a highway near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The latter incident finally reached a legal resolution in July 2025, with a $390 fine, 12 months probation, and a requirement of taking two online courses as part of his sentence after he pled guilty to a lesser charge.
The NFL also suspended Addison for the first three games of this season after the DUI incident was resolved legally.
That punishment carried some immediate financial consequences for him, in terms of the rest of his contract. And that leaves aside the Vikings' upcoming decision on his fifth-year option, and what a contract extension beyond that might look like now.
TMZ further reported that Addison is scheduled to appear in court on February 3.
