New Vikings uniform clue just added another twist to the mystery

In a few weeks, Nike will reveal the next batch of their Rivalries uniforms, and the Minnesota Vikings will be among the eight teams getting some new threads for the upcoming 2026 season.

These uniforms will be worn for one home game against a division rival by every team in the NFC North and AFC South during the 2026 campaign.

Nike has kept pretty quiet about what any of the new uniforms could look like, but some internet detectives recently found a possible clue that might reveal the specific colors that each design will be utilizing.

NFL Fashion Advice on X (@fashion_nfl) recently posted the colorways for the 2026 Rivalry editions of the Nike Air Max 90 sneakers that will release this summer.

Based on the designs from the 2025 Rivalry Air Max 90s, the colors used for each team's respective sneaker will likely match the colors that will be used in the design of the actual Rivalries uniform.

For Minnesota, the 2026 Rivalry edition of their Air Max 90 will feature the colors Dynasty Purple, Metallic Gold, and Pale Ivory.

Texans Uniforms on X (@TexansUnis) then took it one step further and put together a graphic of all the 2026 Rivalry Air Max 90 colors and specified them by team.

Based on the image shared by Texans Uniforms, it seems like the Rivalries uniform for the Vikings might feature a dark purple as the main color for the design.

Key detail about new Minnesota Vikings uniform possibly revealed

While the Air Max 90s might reveal which colors Minnesota's Rivalry uniform will use, there are still plenty of aspects about the new uniform that we can speculate about.

We can assume Dynasty Purple will be the main color, but what about the other two colors? Will Metallic Gold be used as the main color for the jersey numbers, or will that be reserved for the Pale Ivory color?

Also, when it comes to the jersey numbers, what font will be used for them? Will Nike stick with the font used for the Vikings' current uniform design, or will they use something completely different?

What color will the horn logo on the helmet be? Will the helmet be a glossy or matte material? What color will the facemask be? What sort of stripe design will be used on the pants of the uniform? Will there be any Nordic elements used in the design?

Last year, Nike officially revealed the Rivalries uniform designs on August 28th. So, unfortunately, it could still be almost two months until Minnesota fans get to finally see what the Vikings' newest uniform will look like.

Hopefully, it's worth the wait.
