There are plenty of former Minnesota Vikings players scattered throughout the NFL heading into the 2024 season, and a number of them will be suiting up for the Houston Texans.

This year, the Texans have a group of former Vikings on their roster that includes quarterback Case Keenum, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, pass rusher Danielle Hunter, and defensive back Kris Boyd. Well, now Houston decided to sign another former Minnesota player.

Former Vikings offensive guard Chris Reed has apparently agreed to a deal with the Texans after spending the last two seasons in the Twin Cities.

Which former Minnesota Vikings players will help the Houston Texans the most in 2024?

With the addition of Reed this week, Houston now has five former Minnesota players on its roster as they head into the team's 2024 training camp. How many of these former Vikings will actually make an impact on the Texans next season?

Coming off of a 2023 campaign with 16.5 sacks in Minnesota, Hunter probably has the best chance to be a difference-maker for a Houston team that could have one of the NFL's top defenses in 2024 during their second year with head coach DeMeco Ryans leading the charge.

Diggs might have a bit of a more difficult time making an impact for the Texans next season, as he'll have to share targets with fellow talented receivers Tank Dell and Nico Collins. At the same time, the former Vikings pass-catcher also has the potential to emerge as the favorite target for Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud in 2024.

As for the other three former Minnesota players on the Texans' current roster, they're definitely not locks to remain with the team past the preseason.

Keenum was Houston's top backup behind Stroud last year, and he should have the edge over Davis Mills and Tim Boyle for the role again in the upcoming season. But the former Vikings signal-caller will have to prove to the Texans he can still be a reliable QB2 during the next few weeks in training camp and the preseason.

Boyd only appeared in a total of four games with Houston last season (including the playoffs), so his spot on the team's 2024 roster is far from a lock. Then there's Reed, who is probably facing an uphill battle to make the Texans' final roster since he's just joining the team at the start of training camp.

We know Diggs and Hunter will be part of Houston's final 53-man roster for the 2024 season, but will any of the other three former Vikings players join them?
