Almost two full months after the Minnesota Vikings gave a monster extension to star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, the Chicago Bears apparently decided to give one of their own top pass-catchers, DJ Moore, a lucrative contract extension on Tuesday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears and Moore have agreed to a four-year extension worth up to $110 million. It is the largest contract extension that Chicago has given out in the history of its franchise.

Moore, who caught 96 passes for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns last season, is now under contract with the Bears until the 2030 offseason.

How has Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore performed against the Minnesota Vikings?

Since entering the NFL in 2018 as a member of the Carolina Panthers, Moore has gone up against the Vikings four times in his pro career. He hasn't found the end zone in any of his four matchups against Minnesota and he's averaged six catches and 75 receiving yards in these four contests.

Moore's best performance against the Vikings took place last season when he was able to help Chicago get a Week 12 win by hauling in 11 receptions for 114 yards.

Despite the huge contract that he just received from the Bears, he's actually never been voted to a Pro Bowl roster or been selected as a First-Team All-Pro in his six seasons in the NFL. Moore has found a way to finish with at least 1,100 receiving yards in four of his six years in the league, so it's probably fair to say he's one of the more underrated wide receivers in the NFL today.

Regardless of what outsiders think of him, Chicago clearly thinks enough of him to give him the richest contract extension in the history of a franchise.

Will it work out for the Bears and Moore? Chicago certainly hopes so, but the Vikings and the rest of the NFC North are hoping he won't be able to live up to the gigantic expectations that come with signing such a big contract extension.
