Minnesota Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw checked-in to the team's training camp on Tuesday with a giant smile on his face, and now we know exactly why.

The Vikings have announced that the team and Darrisaw have agreed to a four-year extension that will keep him under contract with the franchise until the 2030 offseason.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the extension is worth up to $113 million, and it includes $43.7 million in fully guaranteed money. The extension has been added to Darrisaw's current contract with Minnesota, which still has two years left, so his new salary will begin in 2026.

Selected by the Vikings in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Darrisaw has quickly developed into one of the most talented left tackles in the entire league.

Last season, he finished with the eighth-best offensive grade and the third-best pass-blocking grade from PFF among all qualifying NFL offensive tackles. Surprisingly, Darrisaw hasn't been voted to a Pro Bowl yet in his career. However, that will likely happen in the very near future.

With Darrisaw and wide receiver Justin Jefferson both agreeing to multi-year extensions this offseason, Minnesota is doing everything it can to surround rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy with the tools he needs to succeed.

The Vikings invested the 10th overall pick in this year's NFL Draft on McCarthy, and these massive extensions for Darrisaw and Jefferson will now be a big help in the team's effort to protect their investment.
