To the surprise of absolutely no one, former Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook believes he would fit in perfectly with the Miami Dolphins.

Ever since the speculation began about the Minnesota Vikings potentially moving on from Dalvin Cook earlier this year, the Miami Dolphins have been viewed as a likely landing spot for the veteran running back.

Well, now that Cook has been released by the Vikings, that speculation could potentially turn into a reality. Especially since the running back recently spoke glowingly about the possibility of suiting up for the Dolphins next season.

During a recent conversation with SiriusXM's Amber Theoharis, Cook described Miami as "a perfect fit" since they run an offensive scheme that plays to his strengths.

Dalvin Cook wants to join the Miami Dolphins, but do they want the former Minnesota Vikings running back?

We've heard so much about Cook's interest in playing for the Dolphins during the last few weeks. But what about Miami? Are the feelings mutual?

Earlier in the offseason, there was some clear interest from the Dolphins in acquiring Cook in a trade with the Vikings. But that fell through and Miami went on to select former Texas A&M running back Devon Achane in the third round of this year's NFL Draft.

After adding Achane, are the Dolphins still interested in signing Cook? Perhaps Miami would have been more willing to get in a bidding war for the four-time Pro Bowler before the draft. But after the addition of Achane, maybe the Dolphins don't feel the need to potentially overspend for Cook anymore.

During his interview with Theoharis, Cook also mentioned the New York Jets as a team that people have been predicting as a landing spot for him. So if the former Minnesota running back doesn't end up back home with Miami, the Jets could certainly be a possibility.
