After training camp and three preseason games, which Minnesota Vikings players did enough to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster for the 2023 regular season?

With their final preseason game now in the books, the Minnesota Vikings need to figure out which players are going to remain on their roster for the upcoming 2023 regular season.

Some of the departures will be easy for the Vikings to handle, while other roster decisions might come down to the wire. Just as they did last year around this time, Minnesota might even trade for a few players before they finalize their 53-man roster.

The Vikings will have until 3 p.m. CST on Tuesday, August 29th, to trim their roster from 90 to 53. Before that eventually happens, we've got some predictions about what Minnesota's final 2023 roster might look like, beginning with a new face in the team's quarterback room for the upcoming regular season.

Quarterbacks (3)

  • Kirk Cousins
  • Malik Willis
  • Jaren Hall (R)

Obviously, Kirk Cousins is going to open up the regular season as Minnesota's starting quarterback. But this year, he won't have Nick Mullens behind him on the depth chart.

With there still being uncertainty about what the Vikings' quarterback plans are for 2024, the team ends up sending Mullens and a Day 3 draft pick over to the Tennessee Titans to acquire second-year signal-caller Malik Willis.

Willis has improved tremendously this offseason, and Minnesota got a first-hand look at him during their preseason game and joint practices with the Titans earlier this summer.

Jaren Hall ends up making the Vikings' final roster mostly due to the fact that the team will be too afraid to lose him to another franchise if they attempt to sneak him onto the practice squad.
