For anyone who has been following along during the last few days, this news shouldn't come as a surprise, but the final Minnesota Vikings injury report before Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers was released on Friday, and it revealed that Jordan Addison will not be suiting up for the contest.

The Vikings have officially declared that Addison will be out of action this weekend against the 49ers due to the ankle injury he suffered last Sunday in Minnesota's win over the New York Giants.

In addition to Addison's designation for the Week 2 matchup against San Francisco, the Vikings final injury report of the week also lists safety Harrison Smith (hip), right tackle Brian O'Neill (elbow), and right guard Ed Ingram (tricep) as questionable for Sunday's NFC showdown inside U.S. Bank Stadium.

Final Minnesota Vikings injury report for Week 2 confirms what everyone expected for Jordan Addison

Minnesota likely knew earlier this week that Addison probably wasn't going to play on Sunday, so they've had plenty of time to come up with a plan to make up for his loss on the field.

What will this plan include? We will have to wait and see, but Minnesota receivers Brandon Powell and Jalen Nailor are probably going to get more chances to make plays on Sunday than they did last week.

The Vikings could also utilize running backs Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler as receiving options more frequently this weekend than the team did during the Week 1 win over the Giants.

Not having Addison in the lineup is a bummer, but let's not forget, a 2-4 Minnesota team was able to defeat the 5-1 49ers in Week 7 last season without Justin Jefferson playing.

Jefferson is healthy for Sunday's rematch, and he'll be ready to help the Vikings in their attempt to get their eighth-straight home win over San Francisco.
