No real surprises in Minnesota Vikings first group of 2024 final cuts

Since he was drafted by the Vikings a year ago, McBride might be the biggest surprise out of the group of players the team cut on Monday. However, he was a seventh-round pick in 2023, so it's not like Minnesota was really depending on him to be the future of its offensive backfield.

A number of the guys the Vikings moved on from on Monday were just added to the team less than a week ago, including Ibrahim, Matt Cindric, and Neal Johnson. So Minnesota parting with some of these recent additions shouldn't come as a shock since they were really only brought in to play in the team's final game of the 2024 preseason this past Saturday.

It will be interesting to see if the Vikings attempt to sign any of the players they cut on Monday to their practice squad.

McBride spent the entire 2023 season on Minnesota's practice squad, and that could be something he does once again for 2024. Corral might want to explore other options around the NFL first before making a decision, but he's definitely a possibility for the Vikings' practice squad as well.

Minnesota still has more than 70 players on its current roster and this number must be reduced to 53 by 3 p.m. CST on Tuesday.
