History says Vikings are a lock to beat the Packers in Week 4

Let's hope this train keeps rollin'.

There are many historical trends and narratives the Minnesota Vikings would love to flip. Whether we're talking about the lack of a Super Bowl title or kickers with the yips, fans will tell you plenty about the ugly.

However, the way the Vikings have started this season should not only be celebrated but should also incite a tremendous amount of hope. The fan base likely didn't expect to see this team 3-0 heading into their first divisional matchup of the year, especially considering they've been able to make it through a mini gauntlet of Super Bowl hopefuls like the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans.

Alas, here we are. The Vikes are not only winning games but they're winning them in impressive fashion and behind an unlikely hero, quarterback Sam Darnold. Speaking of trends, Darnold fits yet another trend happening in recent years, a trend seeing former first-round quarterbacks resurrecting their careers after teams had given up on them far too early.

What Darnold has done under head coach Kevin O'Connell is reminiscent of how Baker Mayfield was able to turn the tides last season in Tampa Bay, as he continues to do this year. Funny enough, the two of them came from the same draft class.

Back to this weekend's topic at hand: the Green Bay Packers.

If history is any indication of how this one will go, I've got news for you, fans: Stay confident. History is on the side of the purple and gold.

After dropping the opener in Week 1 to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers have won two straight while riding the arm of backup quarterback Malik Willis. However, Minnesota could see Willis revert to the bench in this one.

Is Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love playing in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings?

Having missed two games due to an MCL injury, Packers starter Jordan Love very well could return to the field against the Vikings.

Love was reportedly "close" to playing against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, but the Packers held him out to ensure he's able to come back healthy when ready.

Is it anything more than pure poetry for Love to make his return in a matchup against the Vikings?

It sounds like one heck of an NFC North collision if you ask me. It's the perfect time for Love to return. After all, the Packers didn't need too much help beating Tennessee. But, against a 3-0 Vikings team playing aggressive defense while flourishing behind the offense led by Darnold and company?

The Packers are going to need Love out on that field, and it sure sounds like he's going to be out there.

Even though Love will be listed as a "game-time decision," fans should expect to see no. 10 under center for the Packers.
